+Sitka’s Evergreen cloud migration is planned for the weekend of October 19-21. See the announcement here - https://bc.libraries.coop/news/moving-servers/
 +
+We expect the Evergreen server will be unavailable, from **9:00 PM PDT Saturday October 19 to 5:00 AM PDT Monday October 21, 2024.**
 +
+Patrons will still be able to access electronic resources during the migration.  The web staff client and public catalogue will be unavailable, but authentication of 3rd party services will continue, and your patrons’ access to digital resources will not be affected.
 +
+**In preparation for Sitka’s Evergreen cloud migration, libraries should note that our IP address will be changing.**
 +
+The IP address cannot be updated before the migration but must be updated as soon as possible on October 21st . Please make sure to have the appropriate staff available to make these changes on October 21st. The current IP address for Sitka’s Evergreen will no longer work after that date.
 +
+This will affect libraries using any of the following services:
 +
 +  * PC Reservations
 +  * MeeScan
 +  * PressReader
 +  * Novelist
+  * Sending files via FTP
 +
+Libraries will need to update our IP address in these services on October 21st to avoid service disruptions.
 +
+If your library uses a firewall, you may need to update the allowed list to include our new IP address. Please check with your IT provider about whether or not you need to update your firewall rules.

 +
+Co-op Support has added the following text to the global email notifications for password resets, test emails, emergency closures, and bibliographic record lists generated through My Account.
 +
+“If you ever have any doubts of the legitimacy of an email message or notification claiming to be from YOUR LIBRARY NAME please contact the library.”
 +
+This is a small measure to help combat phishing.  Information on phishing can be found on the Government of Canada’s Cybersecurity Guidance pages at https://www.cyber.gc.ca/en/guidance/dont-take-bait-recognize-and-avoid-phishing-attacks.
 +
+If you would like this wording added to your library’s customized notifications, please submit a ticket to Co-op Support with the subject Notifications Update - Anti-phishing.  You also have the option to provide your own text to be used in your customized notifications.
 +
+Customizable notifications include courtesy, overdue, hold, patron expiry, welcome notices and more.  Your local system administrators can check which notices are currently in use at your library and view your current templates by following the steps outlined in our Notifications / Action Triggers documentation - https://docs.libraries.coop/sitka/_notifications_action_triggers.html

+**BC Libraries Cooperative Support Advisory - Missing patron notifications June 20-25**
 +
+On June 20-25th there was a recurring issue with the action trigger events and some of the triggered events were not completed.  Action triggers are used by Sitka’s Evergreen to run automatic processes including generating notifications to patrons, setting items to lost, and auto-renewing items.
 +
+During the period of June 20th to 25th:
 +
+  * Some patrons will have missed email and/or text notifications for courtesy, overdue, hold expiration and cancellation, patron account expiry notices.
+  * Some items that were meant to auto-renew did not renew and the associated email did not send.
+  * Some items that were meant to be set to lost did not get set to lost and the associated email did not send.
 +
+The issue has been resolved and notices were sent as expected yesterday and today.  If your patrons are reporting missing notices it will be due to this issue.
 +
+Thank you to the libraries who reported recent issues with notifications.  These reports led us to uncovering the issue.
 +
+We apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused library staff and your patrons.
 +
+Please contact Co-op Support if you have any questions.

+<span style="color:green;font-size:150%;"><strong>BC Libraries Cooperative Support Advisory - Reminder: Circulation Modifier Clean Up</strong></span></html>
 +
+Don’t forget, Co-op Support will be removing the following circulation modifiers and any associated circulation policies tomorrow, June 5th:
 +
 +  * 1-day-loan
 +  * 2-day-loan
 +  * 2-hour-loan
 +  * 3-day-loan
 +  * 7-day loan
 +
+Items still using these circulation modifiers tomorrow will be updated to use “book” instead.
 +
+__What do you need to do?__
 +
+We recommend all libraries run a report using the Sitka Template “Title & Item Count by Shelving Location and Circulation Modifier”. Details on where to find the template and how to run it can be found here: http://docs.libraries.coop/sitka/_collection_management.html#_title_amp_item_count_by_shelving_location_and_circulation_modifier
 +
+If your collection does contain items using any of the above circulation modifiers you can run a report using the Sitka Template “Circ Modifier : Copies with Selected Circ Modifiers” to find out what the items are. Details on where to find the template and how to run it can be found here: http://docs.libraries.coop/sitka/_collection_management.html#_circ_modifier_copies_with_selected_circ_modifiers
 +
+Update these items to use a different circulation modifier. You can modify the report output in a program like Excel and then upload the barcodes to Item Status for easy batch updating. http://docs.libraries.coop/sitka/_item_status.html#_upload_from_file_choose_file

We're changing how Overdrive/Libby authenticates against Sitka’s Evergreen for all subscribed libraries; this includes libraries who participate in Library to Go, eLibraries Manitoba, and those that subscribe individually.  We're switching from SIP2 to PatronAPI which is a more secure authentication method and better protects your patron's privacy.
