=======Reformatting Work Checklist====== On this page you will find a basic checklist for the overall workflow for reformatting a book. Note this is just a general overview, not everything on this list will be something that exists in the book you are working on, and there could be items missing from this list. If there is something that is unclear or missing please post it on the [[public:nnels:etext:q_a|Production Q&]]A page. * [[public:nnels:etext:setting_up_ms_word|Set Document Properties]] * Remove [[public:nnels:etext:table-of-contents|Table of Contents]] * Enter and update [[public:nnels:etext:about-this-digital-book|About Digital Talking Book]] section * If required, enter and update [[public:nnels:etext:producers-note|Producer's Note]] * Apply all appropriate [[public:nnels:etext:styles|Headings]] for Book Sections. See [[public:nnels:etext:start|Book Sections]] on main page for all book sections. * Check original for use of [[public:nnels:etext:bold-italics-underline-strikethrough|emphasis]] and apply as required. * If notes exist, reinsert all notes as [[public:nnels:etext:notes|endnotes]]. * If [[public:nnels:etext:textboxes_and_sidebars|textboxes and asides]] exist, reinsert as required. * Check original for use of [[public:nnels:etext:lists|lists]], and reinsert as required * Check original for [[public:nnels:etext:quotations|blockquotes]] and reinsert as required. * If author exits, apply [[public:nnels:etext:author-citation-styles|citation style]] * If [[public:nnels:etext:tables|Tables]] exist, reformat as required * Check for [[public:nnels:etext:text-breaks|Content Breaks]] and reformat as required * Check for [[public:nnels:etext:capitalization|ALL CAPITAL WORDS]] and reformat as required * If [[public:nnels:etext:symbols|symbols]] exist, reformat as required * If [[public:nnels:etext:links|hyperlinks]] exist, check and reformat as required * If book contains multiple [[public:nnels:etext:language|languages]], check and format as required. * Add [[public:nnels:etext:terms-of-use|Terms of Use]] section to the end of the book. * Images: * Format all images as needed. See [[public:nnels:etext:images|Getting Started]] * Insert [[public:nnels:etext:captions|Captions]] as needed * Enter appropriate Alt-text. See [[public:nnels:etext:images|How to Write Alt-Text]] After you have completed your work, you can run the built in Accessibility Checker for MS Word. This can help you find any mistakes you may have made. Be aware: it flags somethings are wrong, when they are correct, and does not catch all the issues. It is fairly robust, and can assist you as a final check before you pass a ticket back for review. Ensure that you remove: * TAB characters used to provide indentation * Multiple Paragraph ‘Return’ characters (¶) used to provide spacing between paragraphs * Newline breaks (↵) * Multiple SPACE characters If any of this exists in the document, then it is not properly formatted with styles. You will need to remove these spaces.
